1.1: The math classes that I had at mhs are alegbra 1, alegrbra 2, geometry, and intergrated math. I never enjoyed math, it is not my favorite subject. I never kept what I learned in my head, it quickly disappears. I find it difficult to focus and pay attention. I can never be organzied, maybe for the first quarter but then after that everything is out of order. I am a slow learner and I quickly lose intrest. My plans after high school is to go to film school and study so i can become a director or something else behind the set. I need to take this class to gradulate high school.
1.2: Step 1- Going from line a to b you have to multiply by a common multiple which in this case is 10 Step 2- multiply everything by 10 Step 3- going from line c to c you have to subtract 6x from 5x Step 4- going from line c to d you must add 40 and -20 together Step 5- divied -1x by -60 and you end up with x=60 Step 6- now that you have the answer go back to the original eguation and plug in 60 for x Step 7- once you plugged it in you should have 30+4 = 36-2 Step 8- add 30 and 4 one the first side to get 34, then subtract 36 from 2 one the other side to get 34 Step 9- since both sides are eqievalent (34=34) you should have the correct answer for the original problem
1.3: So far the easiest type of problem for me to solve is subtracting variables. Recently the hardest equation for me to solve in solving for x and y on a graph equation. I always get which one I have to solve first mix up. I dont know how to get started on solving for x so I can plug it in for y.
1.4: Linear Funtion- a mathematical equation in which no independant variable is raised to a power over one. Domain- a set of values of the independent variable for which a function is defined. Range- of all possible values of a funtion for the values of the variable. Increasing- the increase of a number in a equation. Decreasing- the decrease of a number in a equation. Slope- the rise over run from the points on a graph. Intercept- the point at which a curve intercepts an axis. Degree- is the exponent of the variable.
1.6: Five equations on the list can be fitted on either graph b or graph d because the y-intercept is a possitive 4. All 5 equations can be deterimed by finding the x-intercept and following the given slope. The last 3 equations belong to either graph a or graph c because the y-intercepts are -4. Equations 1,3 and 4 belong to graph b because the x-intercept is -2x and y-intercept is possitive four, the slopes are 1/2 and -1/2 which follows the line. Equations 2 and 7 belong to graph d because the x and y axis are both positive and the slope matches the graph. Equation 8 belongs to graph a because it has a nagative slope of -1/3 and the y-intercept is -4. The last two equations 5,6 belong to c because it has a positive and negative slope of 1/2 and a negative y-intercept of -4.
1.7: Equations 3 and 4 belong to graph a because they both have a positive 3 for a y-intercept. Equations 5 and 6 belong to graph c because they both have a y-intercept of possitive 2. Equations 1 and 2 belong to graph b because they both have the same slope of -2/3. I only answered the slope intercept form because im not sure how to graph equations in standard form.
1.8: Anne drives to school on monday and it takes her 12 minutes to get to school, in 1 minute she is traveling in 30 miles per hour. In 4 minutes shes still at a constant speed of 30 miles per hour. 25 seconds later she is stoped at a red light for almost a minute and a half. At 6 minutes she is traveling at 40 miles per hour and continues at this speed until 3 minutes and her spped decreses by 20 miles per hour. In 11.5 minutes she is still traveling 20 miles per hour, 55 seconds later she arrives at her school in time.
- Anne is driving fastest at 6-8 at a speed of 40 miles per hour - Anne is stopped on 4.25 through 5 minutes because it was the only time when she was not traveling - Anne's speed starts to decrease by 9-11.5 minutes because the graph was decreasing while she was still moving - At 7 minutes Anne is traveling 40 miles per hour - At 5.5 minutes

1.2: Step 1- Going from line a to b you have to multiply by a common multiple which in this case is 10
Step 2- multiply everything by 10
Step 3- going from line c to c you have to subtract 6x from 5x
Step 4- going from line c to d you must add 40 and -20 together
Step 5- divied -1x by -60 and you end up with x=60
Step 6- now that you have the answer go back to the original eguation and plug in 60 for x
Step 7- once you plugged it in you should have 30+4 = 36-2
Step 8- add 30 and 4 one the first side to get 34, then subtract 36 from 2 one the other side to get 34
Step 9- since both sides are eqievalent (34=34) you should have the correct answer for the original problem
